Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari re-signed Jason Burnell for the 2021-22 season, the Italian team announced Thursday.
Burnell, 23, joined Sassari last summer and quickly established himself as a key member of the team. He logged 11.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks per Basketball Champions League contest. At the domestic level, he had 12.1 points per appearance.
The upcoming season will be his third straight in Italy’s LBA and his second in a row in the BCL. He previously launched his pro career playing for Cantu during the 2019-20 season.
Sassari was recently drawn in Group A of the 2021-22 Champions League Regular Season alongside Lenovo Tenerife and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. The fourth team completing the group will come out of the qualifying rounds.
