Following a breakout season in Israel, Akil Mitchell officially became the latest newcomer for Pinar Karsiyaka. The Turkish club announced his addition on Wednesday evening.
Mitchell, 29, inked a one-year contract to debut in the Basketball Champions League. Karsiyaka has been making plenty of noise during the offseason having already added James Blackmon Jr., Bonzie Colson, Berkan Durmaz, Can Korkmaz, and Burak Can Yildizli.
The latest incoming player, a former Virginia standout, apart from multiple G League stints has made his way to France, Australia, and Italy before focusing on Israel the last couple of seasons. He averaged 15.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks per match for Maccabi Rishon LeZion in the 2020-21 edition of Winner League.
The Turkish club has been drawn in Group B of the BCL Regular Season alongside Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, Baxi Manresa, and Arged BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski.
