Micheal Eric has signed a 1+1 contract with Unicaja Malaga, the team announced Monday.
Eric, 33, last played for CSKA Moscow as a midseason injury relief addition. He finished the 2020-21 season with 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per Turkish Airlines EuroLeague contest, and also posted 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per VTB United League game.
The Nigerian center returns to the Basketball Champions League after his seven appearances as a member of Turk Telekom early in the 2020-21 season. He is back in Spain’s ACB as well with Baskonia in 2019-20 and Bilbao in 2016-17 marking his previous stints. He has also played in Greece and Italy since moving his talents to Europe in 2014.
The former Temple standout is the third summer signing for the team coached by Fotios Katsikaris. Marco Spissu and Jonathan Barreiro were already in.
The Spanish outlet emerging among the early BCL contenders will face Nizhny Novgorod, JDA Dijon, and Lavrio Megabolt in Group C of the approaching Regular Season.
