Filou Oostende has secured the services of American center Brandon McCoy, the team announced Tuesday.
McCoy, 23, after two G League seasons at the Wisconsin Herd, split 2020-21 between Zlatibor of Serbia’s KSL and Puerto Rico’s Grises de Humacao. Also, he was part of Team USA in the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup capturing a bronze medal.
He last played for the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. His showings produced 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest over three appearances.
The former UNLV standout will be heading to the Basketball Champions League as a member of the Belgian club. His side has been drawn in Group F of the Regular Season along with SIG Strasbourg, Tofas, and one more team coming out of the qualifying rounds.
Dario Gjergja’s team, Belgian champions for ten seasons in a row, has already brought in Levi Randolph, Mikael Jantunen, and Phil Booth, and re-signed Pierre-Antoine Gillet during the offseason.
