Besiktas has signed shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead to a deal, the team officially announced Friday.
Whitehead, 26, spent the previous season with Mornar Bar in the ABA League and 7DAYS EuroCup. He averaged 14.4 points, 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds across 14 EuroCup games this past season and posted 12.1 points, 3.1 assists and 2.3 rebounds per ABA contest.
Whitehead was selected in the second round of the 2016 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz and was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets. After spending two seasons between the Nets and their G-League affiliate Long Island Nets, the guard moved to Europe with Lokomotiv Kuban in the 2018-19 season.
Prior to Mornar, Whitehead spent part of the 2019-20 season with Astana, with which he lifted the Kazakhstan League championship and he is now set to make his Basketball Champions League debut with Besiktas.
