Basketball Champions League is a few weeks away from the beginning of its sixth campaign and the BCL Qualifiers are heating all across Europe, with just four tickets for the regular season being up for grabs. Those will belong to the winners of the four qualifying tournaments held in Peristeri, Treviso, Tallinn, and Sofia respectively. Six clubs are participating in each event in a knockout format with two teams awaiting in the semis.
Tuesday’s action belonged to Group D, with Prometey and Parma sealing their spots to the semifinals.
Ukrainian side BC Prometey made it through the Qualifiers semis of Group D with a grant 96-56 win over Levski Sofia on the road, to face Opava on Thursday.
Sean Evans paved the way to this victory with a double-double performance (18 points, 14 rebounds), while D’Angelo Harrison added 16 points for the winners. Vyacheslav Petrov and D.J. Stephens added up to the list of top scorers with 13 and 11 points respectively.
Ventsislav Petkov had 19 points for the tournament hosts and Chavdar Kostov added 11 points and 7 boards.
Parma survived a thriller finale against Hapoel Eilat to prevail with a 79-76 win. Eigirdas Zukauskas paced the winners with 19 points, 11 rebounds, Adas Juskevicius had 16 points and Artsiom Parakhouski added 12 points, 7 rebounds.
Hapoel’s Bryon Allen posted a game-high with 28 points and Justin Patton finished the game with 16.
