After the exciting Monday Game of the Week, Basketball Champions League action continued on Tuesday with Tofas Bursa getting the better of Filou Oostende 92-83 in the first game of the day.
Tomislav Zubcic brought great energy to Tofas when he joined mid-season in the last campaign and he continued being a key factor in the new challenges as well.
The Croatian scored game-high 19 points while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing four assists. Pako Cruz stood out as well, making his return to the competition with a double-double of 13 points and ten assists.
Muhsin Yasar added 18 points for the victors. For Oostende, Levin Randolph logged 15 in addition to Pierre-Antoine Gillet’s 14 and Brandon McCoy’s 11 points respectively.
It was a more balanced matchup than the score says, however, Tofas made a 29-16 lead in the first quarter and managed to hold off multiple comeback efforts by the Belgian side. The 11-0 run in the third quarter (76-58) was crucial to break Oostende’s resistance and close the game.
