Matt Mitchell added up to a round full of explosiveness and game-winners with an imposing dunk of his own to lift SIG Strasbourg to a 75-73 win against Kalev/Cramo in their Basketball Champions League season opener.
Kalev’s Silas Melson had just tied the score to 73 points with seven seconds remaining in the game, followed by a missed effort by John Roberson for the game-winner. Mitchell was alert, he grabbed the offensive rebound and knocked off the putback dunk for Strasbourg. Melson tried to change the outcome again, but his three-pointer came after the final buzzer!
