After a strong start to the season, things started going downwards for Tofas in the past week. They put on a poor display against Darussafaka in the domestic loss and have now fallen to Kalev/Cramo 81-77 in the Basketball Champions League.
Both teams now have a 1-1 record in Group F, as Kalev logged their first-ever win in the competition, and in their debut year.
Tofas managed to bounce back from a 10-point deficit (59-49) in the third quarter thanks to a 9-0 run and things were tied at 71 with three minutes left.
However, JeQuan Lewis and Kregor Hermet banked in two triples for Kalev which were crucial in their path to victory. Tofas did have a chance to tie or win (79-77) but couldn’t find a good shot and ended up losing the ball.
Lewis finished with 17 points but it was Silas Melson who was pushing the Kalev squad most throughout the game with 24 points. Davion Berry scored ten.
Pako Cruz scored 17 for Tofas followed by Berk Ugurlu with 16 points. Tomislav Zubcic had ten points, as did Emre Tanisan.
