Nutribullet Treviso is turning out to be a pleasant surprise this season in the Basketball Champions League as the Italians have improved to a 2-0 record in their debut campaign. Their most recent win came against AEK with quite a convincing 92-77 score.
Henry Sims was the main reason behind Treviso’s push with 31 points on 14-19 shooting and 13 rebounds. He also made four blocks, four steals and two assists, reaching up to 44 PIR.
His 44 PIR is the second-best performance ever in the BCL, just behind Steven Gray’s 47 PIR from the previous season.
Tomas Dimsa also logged a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards while Giordano Bortolani scored 17 points. For AEK, Ian Hummer banked in 22 points followed by Stevan Jelovac with 18 and Quino Colom with 17 points.
Treviso was in control throughout the whole game against the struggling AEK and led by as much as 16 points (55-39) early in the third quarter. The Greek team has now fallen to 0-2 in Group D, following a series of blows to the roster including injuries, coronavirus, and terminated contracts.
