JDA Dijon lost a close affair against Lavrio Megabolt in the opener and also lost the following two games in the French League but they finally recovered with a win in the Basketball Champions League that came against Nizhny Novgorod with 89-75.
Nizhny was off to a great start with a 26-12 first quarter but Dijon quickly bounced back and was already ahead at halftime (40-39). Rashard Kelly was the man of the match as he pushed the French squad to a 63-52 advantage at the end of the third quarter which gave them enough breathing room until the end.
Kelly banked in game-high 20 points while also grabbing 11 rebounds. Gavin Ware added 18 and Toni Katic 16 points.
For Nizhny, Rolands Freimanis scored 16 and Sergey Toropov 15 points.
Dijon now stands at a 1-1 record while Nizhny is in a bit of trouble as they lost both games so far.
