More crazy Basketball Champions League action provided by Justin Simon ranks him first and third in the latest weekly edition of the Top 5 Plays.
Simon, 25, rocking a game-high 26 points in his latest solid showing was not enough for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg against Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari in the Monday “Game of the Week”. However, a shattering block on Tyus Battle rewarded him with the top spot in the Top 5. An offensive play, specifically an acrobatic bucket, landed him in third place.
Second place went to Marvin Jones. The Chicago-born big man with a late rejection helped PAOK mateco defeat ERA Nymburk on the road. Besides the victory, the Greek outlet also earned the tiebreaker advantage, which can prove extremely useful moving forward in Group E of the Regular Season field.
Another block fit in the fourth spot as Kaiser Gates lighted up both the Pais Arena and Markus Loncar helping Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem to finally get off the mark after three losses in a row. The former Xavier standout additionally chipped in nine points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals against Arged BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski.
Further down, in fifth place, Ismael Bako dunking contributed to his 20-point, 11-rebound double-double and to Baxi Manresa continuing to dominate Group B. At the end of the sixth week of action, the Spanish club became the first time sealing a ticket for the Round of 16.
