JDA Dijon came into the duel against the undefeated Unicaja Malaga as the underdog but the French team had full control of the game and logged a 78-68 home win in the Basketball Champions League.
Gavin Ware spent less than 18 minutes on the court but had an impressive performance with 20 points on 10-12 from the field. David Holston scored 19 points and dished nine assists while Jacques Alingue and Abdoulaye Loum scored 14 each.
For Unicaja, Dario Brizuela scored 17 in addition to Micheal Eric’s 12 and Tim Abromaitis’ ten points.
Dijon, which has now improved to a 2-2 record, made the crucial 11-2 run in the second quarter, going to the break with a 47-32 advantage. Unicaja (3-1) managed to reach the four-point margin (52-48) but Dijon stayed calm and quickly returned to double-digits, leading by as much as 17 points (72-55).
