Hereda San Pablo has been considering many options to replace Zan Tabak on the bench since the club parted ways with their head coach in mid-November.
According to a report by Diario de Burgos, the two frontrunners for the position are Salvador Maldonado and Henrik Rödl. The Catalan coach is the favorite to take the reigns of the team due to his extensive experience in the ACB, although Rodl is also an option that the team has been considering.
Maldonado, 62, has over 20 seasons of experience in the Spanish Liga Endesa with Joventut, Manresa, Sevilla, Baskonia, Estudiantes and Gran Canaria, among other teams.
He last coached Gran Canaria in the 2018-19 campaign but was dismissed due to poor results in the ACB and EuroLeague.
UPDATE: Burgos announced that Salva Maldonado is the team’s new head coach.
