Packing the experience of 49 games in the Basketball Champions League, Hayden Dalton is nearing a deal with back-to-back champions Hereda San Pablo Burgos, according to Eurohoops sources.
Dalton, 25, joined Cedevita Olimpija last June but parted ways with the Slovenian club before the start of the 2021-22 editions of 7DAYS EuroCup and AdmiralBet ABA League. Moving to JL Bourg, he was held to 3.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest between EuroCup and France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A.
The former Wyoming standout enjoyed much more productive campaigns at Nymburk and Bakken Bears introducing himself to the European stage. Besides capturing three domestic championships in 2019, 2020, and 2021, his stints at the Czech and Danish sides included as many seasons in the BCL. In his most recent season, his second as a member of Nymburk, he put up 11.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per 2020-21 game over 13 appearances. His side was knocked out in the Final Eight quarterfinals for the second time in a row.
Burgos was the champion of both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. The 2021-22 squad under the guidance of Zan Tabak managed to reach first place in Group H behind a 3-1 record and will move forward with recently-hired head coach Salva Maldonado in the two remaining fixtures of the double-legged round-robin schedule of the 2021-22 Regular Season. Domestically, a poor 3-8 run narrowly ranks over the relegation zone of the ACB standings.
