Tony Crocker has been released from his contract with SIG Strasbourg, the team announced Sunday evening.

Crocker, 34, was added in early October to replace injured Jarell Eddie on the roster. The latter is set to be included in team practices next week and get on track to officially launch his second stint at the French club. He was projected to miss two to three months due to a lower back injury.

The former Oklahoma standout, carrying the experience of a lengthy European career stretching from Hungary, Finland, Greece, and Israel, to Turkey and Russia, registered 8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and one steal per contest over his first four appearances in the Basketball Champions League. He added 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and one assist per game over eight appearances in France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A, including seven points and five assists in today’s home win opposite AS Monaco.

Eddie, 30, coming in after recovering from injury meets the team coached by Lassi Tuovi awaiting to find out its opponent in a best-of-three Play In series following the BCL Regular Season. His side will finish second in Group F to secure the home-court advantage with a win or a loss by a margin of five points or less versus Filou Oostende at Rhenus Sport on December 21.

Domestically, Strasbourg at 7-3 ranks third in the standings behind Metropolitans 92 (10-1) and Monaco (8-3). Up next, an away fixture versus Paris next Saturday, three days ahead of the game versus Oostende.
