Although Nizhny Novgorod did their part of the job with a 93-85 home win over JDA Dijon, the Russian team’s future was depending on other results that didn’t go their way.
Nizhny got eliminated and has finished the season in the Basketball Champions League with a 2-4 record. Lavrio megabolt (3-3) made sure of their fate by beating Unicaja Malaga (4-2) and the Greek team will go the Play-In together with Dijon (3-3).
Ivan Strebkov and Mikhail Kulagin were outstanding with 23 and 22 points respectively while Rolands Freimanis had 15 points. The most impressive part of Strebkov’s performance was that he shot perfectly with 5-5 from two and 3-3 from three-point territory.
On Dijon’s side, Gavin Ware scored 20 and David Holston 18 points while Rashard Kelly helped out with 14 points.
