Hapoel Holon’s narrow defeat against Besiktas on Wednesday for the Basketball Champions League play-ins brought a change in the coaching staff, as head coach Maurizio Buscaglia parted ways with the team.
Buscaglia, 52, joined the Israeli side during the offseason, replacing Stefanos Dedas, and has led the team to an overall 4-3 record in the Basketball Champions League 2021-22 campaign.
Hapoel is currently placed in the third position of the Israeli Winner League standings with an 8-5 record.
Per the club’s announcement:
“Maurizio Buscaglia has finished his career at the club. In a meeting that took place in the afternoon [Thursday] between the coach and members of the club’s management, the coach was informed of the decision to terminate his contract with the team. We thank Maurizio for his time at the club and wish him continued success in his professional path”.
