After helping SIG Strasbourg advance to the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, Jarell Eddie signed a contract for the remainder of the 2021-22 season with Hereda San Pablo Burgos.

Eddie, 30, confirmed earlier reports and joined the back-to-back BCL champions amid the Play-In series versus Darussafaka. His new team won Game 1 and is scheduled to visit Istanbul for Game 2 next Tuesday. Meanwhile, he starred in the two-game sweep of Strasbourg over PAOK mateco in another Play-In series.

The Virginia Tech standout missed the first chunk of games in the 2021-22 season due to injury. Upon getting cleared, he averaged 16.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per BCL contest, powered by the 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in the completed best-of-three series opposite PAOK. At the domestic level, he produced 11.3 points and 2.3 rebounds over three appearances in France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A.

The Tampa-born forward coming in follows the addition of Landy Nnoko last week and the hiring of Paco Olmos as the new head coach on Monday. Struggling throughout the ACB Regular Season resulting in a poor 4-11 W-L tally forced changes for the Castilians.

Eddie went undrafted in 2014 after four years at the Hokies. However, he registered 34 appearances in the NBA between the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics. He generated 2.6 points per NBA game before shifting focus overseas.

After the great European introduction with Strasbourg in 2018-19, he joined UCAM Murcia for the 2019-20 season and from there jumped to Fenerbahce Beko in 2020-21. The early ending to his second stint with SIGmen marks his first midseason transfer across the Atlantic Ocean.
