Chris Dowe handing Prometey an overtime win in Game 2 of the Basketball Champions League best-of-three Play-In series earns first place in the weekly Top 5.
Dowe, 30, connecting late in the extra period evened the series opposite Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem. He ended up with nine points coming off the bench Tuesday and added nine more in Game 3, all in the fourth quarter, helping the Ukraine champions eliminate the Israeli club and complete the field of the Round of 16.
Experienced power forward Ike Udanoh cleaning up over the rim ranked second. Tallying eight points powered by the highlight putback slam and 4/5 shots in twenty minutes aided SIG Strasbourg to begin the Round of 16 with an away win against Rytas Vilnius.
Unicaja did not enjoy a positive start but loved backup center Ruben Guerrero dunking over two defenders of U-BT Cluj Napoca. He landed in third place in the Top 5. The Romania champions eventually forced the team coached by Fotis Katsikaris down to 0-1.
Back to the SIGmen, captain DeAndre Lansdowne combined a block with an assist to take the fourth spot. Besides the brilliant sequence, the American guard was held to four points and 2/7 field goals along with three assists, two rebounds, and one steal in 25 minutes.
Hapoel Jerusalem ending its BCL campaign did not prevent John Egbunu from ranking fifth. A big dunk by the Nigerian-born center dunk in Game 3 opposite Prometey made the highlight reel.
