Tomislav Zubcic and Tyler Ennis stepped up in crunch time for Tofas and handed their team a 74-68 home win against BAXI Manresa in the Basketball Champions League.
Tofas had a great start to the Round of 16 and now tops Group J with 2-0 while Manresa started with a 0-1 record after many issues with COVID-19 and injuries.
With the score tied at 66 with two minutes remaining, Ennis pushed Tofas ahead with two points while Zubcic banked in a three-pointer to follow up and give his team the crucial distance. Ennis made a triple as well with eight seconds remaining to seal the deal.
Zubcic finished the game with 16 points while Ennis was right behind with 15. Kasey Shepherd logged ten points and seven assists including a couple of nice dishes in the final minutes.
For Manresa, Luke Maye was on fire with 31 points on 10-16 shooting including 6-10 from deep but it wasn’t enough in the end, as he stayed the only double-digit scorer for the Spaniards.
