Unicaja was having a rough patch recently but the Spaniards got some uplift with a 75-59 home win over Filou Oostende in the Basketball Champions League.
They improved to 1-1 in Group K while Oostende suffered a loss in their Round of 16 opener. It was a one-point game at halftime (35-34) but Unicaja took over after the break and went up by 13 points (57-44) near the end of the third quarter, riding the momentum until the very end.
Tim Abromaitis led the home team with 12 points while Alberto Diaz added ten. Unicaja also went through some roster changes recently, adding Dejan Kravic and Matt Mooney who scored eight points each in their debut.
For Oostende, Keye van der Vuurst de Vries scored 12 points as the only double-digit scorer for the Belgian team. Amida Brimah had seven points but also grabbed ten rebounds.
