A couple of weeks after his game-winning shot in overtime to keep Prometey alive in the Basketball Champions League Play-In Round, Chris Dowe did it again lifting the Ukraine champions in the huge win over Unicaja.
Dowe, 30, completed a four-point play with his side trailing by three points opposite the storied Spanish club. The clutch three-pointer ranked first in the BCL Top 5 Plays of the Week. Following Tuesday’s triumph, Prometey went on to beat Filou Oostende on the road and jump to 2-0 in Round of 16 Group K Thursday.
Daniel Garcia got second place in the highlight reel. An amazing assist nutmegging his opponent resulted in an easy bucket for the 2017 NCAA champion with North Carolina Luke Maye. The Spanish guard went for four rebounds, three assists, and one steal as Baxi Manresa rolled Darussafaka Wednesday.
In third place, Elijah Stewart throwing down the alley-oop pass from Patrick Richard helped Romania champions U-BT Cluj Napoca beat Oostende in the Monday “Game of the Week”. Apart from the excellent connection above the rim, they combined for 33 points against the Belgium champions.
Oostende lost a couple of games this week and was on the receiving end in two of the aforementioned plays but also delivered. Ghanaian Amida Brimah stopped Denis Lukashov with his fifth block of the night to claim the fourth spot of the Top 5.
Wrapping up, center Fran Guerra dunked in style off an assist by Bruno Fitipaldo to squeeze in fifth. He scored ten points for Lenovo Tenerife moving up to 3-0 in Group L Tuesday.
