Last Sunday, Lenovo Tenerife overpowered Baxi Manresa to become the second team with multiple Basketball Champions League championships.
A breathtaking conclusion to both the Final Four and the 2021-22 season overall. The team based in the Canary Islands pulled away behind a solid effort on offense and defense throughout the third quarter and held on to punch in the season-winning victory. An 11-game winning streak stretching from Game 3 of the Play-In Round to the championship game.
Supporters of the losing side, covering most of the Bilbao Arena, were quick to congratulate Tenerife creating a beautiful atmosphere at the end of the fourth period.
Bilbao-born head coach Txus Vidorreta enjoyed winning a title in his hometown. He was also in charge all the way back in 2016-17 guiding Tenerife to the inaugural championship of FIBA’s top European club competition. As an added bonus, floor general Marcelo Huertas was named Final Four MVP.
