Peristeri is in search of a head coach after the end of the season and the Greek club aspired to have Vassilis Spanoulis on their bench.
George Pantazopoulos – president and GM of Peristeri – has undertaken the talks with Vassilis Spanoulis, but at this point, there is no remarkable development, positive or negative.
Spanoulis wants to make his first step as a head coach of a club with extreme caution.
He demands full control of the team and a budget of at least around 1.5 million euros in order to create a team that can compete on a European level.
That’s why if Peristeri wants Spanoulis, they have also to secure a spot in continental competitions, something which is non-negotiable if they want to get the Greek legend.
Peristeri has already opened a round of discussions with the BCL, while contacts have been made also with the Eurocup. The problem, however, is that the club finished just eighth this season in the Greek League.
In the recent past, Promitheas Patras was the first club that tried to approach Spanoulis in order to be their head coach to no avail so far.
