Nihad Djedovic’s long-term cooperation with FC Bayern Munich came to an end and now the German guard returns to Spain for Unicaja Malaga with a 1+1 year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Djedovic, 32, moved to FC Barcelona in 2007 after spending two years with KK Bosna and was part of the Barca squad that lifted the 2009 ACB trophy. Throughout his presence in the club, he has been loaned to Cornella, Obradoiro and Virtus Roma, before moving to Galatasaray in 2012.
The Bosnian/German guard joined ALBA Berlin for the 2012-13 campaign and the following year he signed a deal with Bayern. Across his 9-season stint with Bayern, Djedovic has won three German BBL championships (2014, 2018, 2019) and two German Cups (2013, 2018), while he was also named the BBL Finals MVP in 2019.
He is expected to make his Basketball Champions League debut in 2022-23 with Unicaja.
