Vassilis Spanoulis commences his professional career as a head coach with Greek side Peristeri, confirming Eurohoops’ prior reports.
Peristeri will compete in the Group Stage of the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League regular season, which played a key role in Spanoulis’ decision to sign a deal with the club.
Spanoulis, 39, got a glimpse of head coaching duties during the recent ANGT Tournament in Belgrade while leading the U18 Next Generation Select Team.
As previously reported, EuroLeague Basketball legend Spanoulis will be joined on the Peristeri bench by Dusan Vukcevic as an assistant coach and Georgios Tsiaras as a team manager.
The final deal was confirmed by Misko Raznatovic on Twitter and then officially announced by the club with Spanoulis having signed a tw0-year deal and Peristeri competing in the regular season of the Basketball Champions League.
