American forward/center Devin Davis inked a one-year contract with Peristeri, the team announced Monday.
After completing his NCAA career at Houston, he turned pro with the Lakeland Magic in the G League through the 2018-19 season. From there he shifted to Lavrio and will be back in Greece for a third campaign in the Stoiximan Basket League. In 2021-22, playing in France as a member of ESSM Le Portel, he averaged 12.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks per contest in the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A.
Davis, 27, followed Shakur Juiston in the team powering up in style for the 2022-23 edition of the Basketball Champions League and coached by Vassilis Spanoulis. The fellow American big man was confirmed as another addition yesterday, Sunday. Croatian Miro Bilan was previously the first official summer addition, while Greek forward Leonidas Kaselakis has agreed on a two-year deal.
In other BCL news coming in from Turkey, Yunus Emre Sonsirma switched from Pinar Karsiyaka to Galatasaray Nef. The Turkish pointed guard inked a two-year contract with the Lions. Meanwhile, Turkish center Mert Celep returned to Karsiyaka for a second stint.
Peristeri, Galatasaray, and Karsiyaka have all been placed directly in the Regular Season of the 2022-23 edition of FIBA’s top European club continental competition. The 28 direct entries and four more teams surviving the Qualifiers will be drawn into eight groups of four teams each on July 7. The Regular Season is scheduled to tip off in early October.
‼️ Another hit from @peristeribc of Vassilis Spanoulis. They signed for one year (per 150K$) the American PF #DevinDavis (27, 2.01), who returns back to Greece, after two seasons with Lavrio.
