Experienced shooting guard Marcus Denmon has inked a one-year contract to join Peristeri, the team announced Wednesday. Eurohoops’ own Stavros Barbarousis had previously reported on the new addition to the Greek club.

Denmon, 32, is the latest entry to the team coached by legendary player Vassilis Spanoulis. He will debut in the Basketball Champions League. Previous experience in European club continental competition includes him logging 28 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague as a member of Panathinaikos in the 2017-18 season. Peristeri has already signed Brandon Brown, Devin Davis, Shakur Juiston, Miro Bilan, and Leonidas Kaselakis, and also re-signed Dimitris Moraitis.

The former Missouri standout was selected with the 59th overall pick of the 2012 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. Moving his talents overseas led him to France and Elan Chalon in 2012-13. Following the rookie professional season, he had one-year stints at Turkey’s Tofas, Italy’s Happy Casa Brindisi, Turkey’s Istanbul BB, and Turkey’s Gaziantep, before landing in Greece for Panathinaikos. After spending three years in China’s CBA, he returned to Turkey to play for Aliaga Petkim Spor and averaged 12.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.3 steals per contest over seven appearances in the 2021-22 edition of Turkey’s BSL.

Looking into other recent official moves in the Champions League field, Telekom Baskets Bonn signed American guard Collin Malcolm for the next season, Hapoel U-NET Holon penned 28-year-old forward Shawn Dawson to a one-year contract, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem inked youngster Gilad Levy to a four-year contract, Bahcesehir Koleji retained Berkay Candan for one more season, and Rio Breogan welcomed Croatian Toni Nakic ahead of the 2022 Qualifiers.
