With the game on the line until the last seconds, SL Benfica got the upper hand over Limoges with a three-pointer by Toney Douglas. The Portuguese newcomer found the 67-68 win, its second one in a row in the European competition after beating VEF Riga.
The NBA veteran, who recently talked to Eurohoops, was clutch in the last minute of the game, even though he had only 3 points and 1/8 from the field.
Aaron Broussard, who had 17 points against Limoges, has now scored 15+ points in four of his 12 games in the BCL, with three of those being on the road. Betinho Gomes (15 p., 6 r.) and Ivan Almeida (12 p., 9 r.) contributed to the win on the road.
The home side had only three players in double digits. Desi Rodriguez ended with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Jayvon Graves and Wilfried Yeguete scored 10 each. Former Bayern Munich player Gavin Schilling went close to a double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
SL Benfica proved once again to be one of the best teams getting the ball from the opponents: after the 15 steals in Latvia, they got 12 today. With this win, the Basketball Champions League newcomer went 2-0 in Group F, while CSP Limoges remained winless after their loss against BAXI Manresa in Round 1.
