UCAM Murcia combo guard Jordan Davis claimed the player of the week honors, the Basketball Champions League announced.
Davis, 25, was initially featured in the Top 5 Most Impactful Five of Week 4 along with Errick McCollum, Boubacar Toure, Kristers Zoriks, and T.J. Shorts, according to the Viziball Advanced Stats system. The next step belonged to the fans.
The former Northern Colorado standout was then voted as the player of the week. A solid 45% of the fan votes slid him ahead of Telekom Basket Bonn star Shorts and his own 24%. Pinar Karsiyaka’s experienced guard followed with 14%, while VEF Riga’s Zoriks received 12% and Tofas’ Toure 5% of the votes.
Drawing the first player of the week honors of the 2022-23 season was Miro Bilan, the experienced center playing for Peristeri bwin and Vassilis Spanoulis. Long-time Falco Vulcano Szombathely leader Zoltan Perl was the next player of the week and Maurice Kemp of Bnei Ofek Dist Herzliya was the fan favorite in Week 3.
Averaging 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.7 blocks per contest over three appearances this season, Davis propelled Murcia to a 2-1 start in Group A of the Regular Season. His side is tied with Strasbourg on top of the standings, ahead of Tofas and Szombathely knotted at 1-2.
In the earliest stage of his professional career, he made his way to 11 games of the 2019-20 BCL season, split between Baxi Manresa and Rasta Vechta. Heading to the 2020-21 season, he joined Murcia and has since remained a part of the team based in Southeastern Spain.
