With an impressive 27-17 run in the fourth quarter, ERA Nymburk found the first win of its BCL this year by beating Bahcesehir 79-76. The Czech team ended a five-game losing streak.
Marek Klassen struggled with shooting percentages (4/12) but became the first player ever with made consecutive double-doubles with points and assists with Nymburk in the competition. He had 11 points and 11 assists.
The most important scoring contribution came from Nate Watson’s hands, as the 24-year-old center ended the game with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Jerry Boutsiele had an incredible night in the Czech Republic, recording a monstrous double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. He has now scored more than 10 points in eight of his nine games in the BCL.
Jamar Smith did his best as well, adding 17 points with 5/8 from three points, the house specialty for the former UNICS Kazan American guard.
ERA Nymburk managed to beat the opponents thanks to the difference in points from turnover (18 vs 9) and especially in the paint (46 vs 18).
With this loss, the Turkish team slides down to the last position in Group D with a 1-2 record. ERA Nymburk, with the same record, isn’t at the bottom anymore.
