As first reported by La Prealpina and then by Sportando, Giordano Bortolani will leave BAXI Manresa after joining the Catalan team in the summer.
The 21-year-old Italian shooting guard, who was voted as the best U22 player in last year’s Basketball Champions League with Treviso, hasn’t confirmed the expectations yet with Pedro Martinez’s team.
The shooting specialist is averaging 9.5 points per game in the 2022-23 BCL with only 30% from three-point range, and 10.1 points in the ACB League, where Manresa is at the bottom of the standings.
Pedro Martinez confirmed his departure: “We have a lot of players in that role and we don’t count on him anymore”.
Last season’s BCL Final Four runner-up is in the middle of a revolution that saw Frankie Ferrari, Matthias Tass, and Jordan Caroline joining the team, after parting ways with Marcus Lee and Jake Layman, who was announced before terminating the contract without a single game played.
