After losing in Czech Republic 79-76, Bahcesehir got its revenge against ERA Nymburk by winning 88-80.
This is the home side’s first win after two consecutive defeats, while it’s the third straight-away loss for Ladislav Sokolovsky’s team.
Yigit Arslan was the unexpected MVP of the game with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 30 of efficiency. His fellow countryman Muhammed Baygül added 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Jerry Boutsiele, who before the encounter had made four double-doubles in his nine games in the league, had 16 points and 8 rebounds. In his first BCL game with Bahcesehir, James Gist scored 9 points.
On the losing side, Gerel Simmons was the best scorer of his team, as he had 27 points with 6/11 from downtown off the bench.
Marek Klassen, who previously made a double-double with points and assists in each of his two BCL games with ERA Nymburk, finished with 18 points and 4 assists.
The game erupted in the second half. First, ERA Nymburk reduced the gap with a 29-11 run in the third quarter, and then Bahcesehir got the job done by closing the fourth quarter on a 24-11 decisive run.
ERA Nymburk found a better scoring contribution from the bench (41 vs 13) and in second-chance opportunities (24 vs 7), but Bahcesehir shot with the highest percentages inside the area (58.82% vs 33.33%).
With this win, Bahcesehir is now behind Bilbao Basket in Group A with a 2-2 record. ERA Nymburk remains at the bottom with a 1-3 record.
