MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg has to wait to join Telekom Baskets Bonn as another German team that advances to the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League Round of 16.
Hapoel Jerusalem, in fact, won 87-81 on the road, with Zach Hankins ending the game with 19 points and 6 rebounds.
Speedy Smith, who made 14 assists in his last game against Bakken Bears, the most for a player in a BCL game this season, had 15 points and 6 assists.
Isaiah Whitehead was one of the best scorers of the black-and-yellow team, with 15 points off the bench. Yorman Polas had 13 points while shooting perfectly (3/3 FG, 6/6 FT).
Prentiss Hubb, who is the only player to have scored more than 10 points in each of MHP RIESEN’s first four games in the BCL this season, had a rough shooting night (6/15 FG), scoring 18 points.
The home side shot better than the opponents inside from the three-point line (44.83% vs 42.86%) and at the charity stripe (100% vs 58.33%).
Ludwigsburg was better in points from the bench (29 vs 22), while the winning team prevailed with points in the paint (36 vs 24) and from turnovers (27 vs 16).
They needed a victory by at least 15 points to advance to the Round of 16, but Hapoel Jerusalem (3-2) can still hope to go directly to the next round after Darussafaka’s defeat against Bakken Bears.
