Voted by the fans, Dogus Ozdemiroglu stood out as the Player of the Week in the Basketball Champions League Play-Ins Game 1.
Ozdemiroglu, 26, gathered 47% of the votes, as announced. Further details of fan voting, Jhonathan Dunn of MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg settled as the runner-up behind 32% of the votes. Rytas’ Martynas Echodas, Pinar Karsiyaka’s Braian Angola, and AEK’s Janis Strelnieks ranged from 10% to 6% and 5%, respectively. Those five players were previously shortlisted as Player of the Week candidates.
Dacka’s floor general has been spectacular moving through his third BCL campaign. The most recent showing, his 18-point, 14-assist double-double alongside three rebounds and two steals powered the away win against Benfica, thus shifting the home-court advantage in the best-of-three series to the Turkish outfit. Wednesday’s Game 2 and the attached clinching opportunity are next.
