Another big performance for the Panamanian center in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16

Despite a shooting clinic from beyond the arc, Limoges CSP found its third consecutive defeat in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, as AEK won 82-72 at home.

Akil Mitchell, who registered a double-double in four of his previous five BCL games after making none in his previous eight appearances in the competition, was dominant as usual for AEK, ending the game with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Isaiah Miles also had a great night with 20 points shooting 7/11 from the field and 4/5 at the line. Kenny Williams and Janis Strelnieks followed respectively with 13 and 10 points.

With Bryce Jones being sidelined by Massimo Cancellieri, Jayvon Graves stepped up big-time for the French guests, but he wasn’t enough. The American playmaker went close to a triple-double with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.

The 20-year-old Lucas Ugolin followed with 12 points and 4/5 from the perimeter, while the newest addition Kenny Kadji ended the game with the same amount of points scored.

Limoges CSP started the game hot, being up by 20 points (37-17) with 07:09 left in the second quarter. They had an amazing three-point performance, shooting 13/23 (56.52%).

However, AEK managed to turn things around a produced a crazy comeback, closing the last ten minutes on a 23-7 run. They dominated in the paint, scoring 40 points against Limoges’ 16.

With this win, AEK is now 2-1, while Limoges CSP stays at the bottom with a 0-3 record. The other game scheduled for this week in Group K, between Unicaja Malaga and Galatasaray NEF, has been postponed after the devastating earthquake that shocked Turkey and Syria.
