World Cup champion with Spain, Pierre Oriola, signed for AEK Athens, as the club announced
The experienced Spaniard arrived in the Greek capital two days ago and will officially start a new chapter in his career with AEK.
Oriola started the season in ACB League with Girona after leaving Barcelona last summer. In seven games, he averaged 2,7 points and three rebounds.
The former Barcelona captain spent five years with the Catalan giants, won Copa del Rey on four occasions, and was a Spanish champion in 2021.
Before his stint with Blaugrana, Oriola also won the ACB league with Valencia.
With the Spanish national team, he won the bronze medal at Eurobasket 2017 in Turkey and gold two years later at the China World Cup.
AEK signed a huge reinforcement in a 30-year-old center for the Basketball Champions League, where the Athens club is sitting in the first place of Round of 16 Group K, with a 2-1 score.
