Injuries – fingers crossed for both Alberto Diaz and Leandro Bolmaro -, leading runs, thrilling outcomes, and surprises: the first games of the 2023 Basketball Champions League Quarter-Finals had everything needed to be excited. And that’s only the beginning of the journey to the Final Four.
In Tuesday’s matchups, the teams with the home-court advantage didn’t mess up. Hapoel Jerusalem got a 20-point lead after the first quarter against AEK, saw its deficit being cut but then managed to take the victory. Unicaja Malaga, instead, took control of Game 1 against UCAM Murcia from the beginning.
On Wednesday, Telekom Baskets Bonn’s 11-game winning streak in the Basketball Champions League got erased by Marcus Keene and his three-point game-winning shot. In the first rematch of last year’s BCL Final, Lenovo Tenerife beat BAXI Manresa to take the lead in the best-of-three series.
