The Final Four of the 2023 Basketball Champions League is approaching, and Telekom Baskets Bonn will face the host Unicaja Malaga in the semifinal. The German team will especially rely on TJ Shorts, who has been featured in the latest BCL Diaries episode.
“Basketball started with me very early. At the age of 4, my mum gave me a basketball, and I fell in love with the sport. I didn’t play any other sports growing up, I was solely focused on basketball, and as I got older my love for it grew even more. I knew when I was about 16, 17 that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life”, the 25-year-old guard said.
“My number 0 goes all the way back to college. leaving high school in 2015, I had zero scholarships and I decided to go to a junior college, Saddleback. I ended the season with once again zero scholarships. After my second season, I received the first one with UC Davis. I took that opportunity and kept that mindset of having the chip on my shoulder, feeling like nobody believes in me until I go out there and do it. Hopefully, in the future, I can continue rocking that number 0”, TJ Shorts added to his number.
In his first-ever year in the International competition, TJ Shorts has been dragging Telekom Baskets Bonn from the beginning until the Quarter-Finals, averaging 18.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game.
