MALAGA, Spain – On the eve of the 2023 Basketball Champions League Final Four, the usual Pre-Tournament Press Conference took place in the Andalusian city. For Unicaja Malaga, the head coach Ibon Navarro and the team’s captain Alberto Diaz talked about the tournament.
“Everybody said we are the favorites because we played at home with our fans and their energy. But starting from Bonn, their quality of basketball is one of the top of the competition. We respect them a lot, and we have to go day by day, game by game. We could recover important players for us like Alberto and Dario. Bonn plays really well, they created a really important winning culture. They are much more than TJ Shorts”, the head coach added.
“We are similar teams. They try to do everything for their team, it will be a battle, a long game. We know that the game will be decided in the last minutes. We are proud of these results because it means that our league is growing well. Being here is really tough, really difficult. It’s fun to see this happening. Bonn is a great team, it’s unbelievable how they move the ball. The key is to be solid and contain each one of them, staying focused. Not only on TJ Shorts. We created a real family, all of us want to win for the team”, the Spanish point guard said.
