MALAGA, Spain – On the eve of the 2023 Basketball Champions League Final Four, the usual Pre-Tournament Press Conference took place in the Andalusian city. For Hapoel Jerusalem
“We are not talent-wise where we should be, but we ended up here. We played teams with more talent which didn’t beat us. It’s not like we can kind of compare the Israeli State Cup and this competition: Tenerife and Unicaja are EuroLeague teams, coaching-wise, and logistics-wise. Everybody knows that. I watched the final of the Spanish cup, and I think I can compare that a little bit that game to the elite ones of the European competitions”, the head coach said.
“Tenerife is doing everything right. Txus has been there for five years, and it’s not for no reason. You can’t put in on a paper, and evaluate that kind of quality of selection, support, commitment. We’ll have a tough job. What’s the weak link of that team? Please, somebody, help me”, Dzikic added.
“Defense is the key for us in every game, and especially for Tenerife. We’ve beaten this year better teams, and we will try to do it again”, the team’s captain Itay Segev said.
