MALAGA, Spain – The 2023 Basketball Champions League Final Four is here, and Lenovo Tenerife will try to be like San Pablo Burgos, winning the competition in back-to-back fashion following last year’s triumph. One of the protagonist of Txus Vidorreta’s team in the semifinal against Hapoel Jerusalem, scheduled on Friday at 17:30 CET, will be Giorgi Shermadini.
“I’m feeling good. It’s always nice to play in the Basketball Champions League Final Four. We are ready and happy to be here in Malaga, and let’s see. Last season we won the cup and it was an amazing feeling in Bilbao. Here in Malaga, it will be more difficult, but we will try our best. You never know, it’s only one game”, the Georgian center stated following the team’s morning practice.
Then, Shermadini went on to speak about Lenovo Tenerife’s opponents. “Hapoel Jerusalem is a very good team with an experienced head coach. We must be ready from the first until the last minute. They play very good and fast basketball, and they have good players”, the reigning champion added about the red-and-black Israeli side.
After winning the Basketball Champions League in 2022 with the Canarian side under Txus Vidorreta, Giorgi Shermadini has played another consistent season in the International competition, averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
