MALAGA, Spain – Following Unicaja Malaga’s victory in the Copa del Rey, Kendrick Perry wants to bring another gold to the Andalusian city, as they host the 2023 Basketball Champions League Final Four.
Following Ibon Navarro’s team’s practice, the playmaker spoke about this event. “It’s a great opportunity for us. It shows the hard work that we put in since August. Along with the other three teams, we deserve to be here, and it’s a great opportunity for us to try to accomplish something in front of our fans and the city. We’re definitely looking forward to it”, he said.
“I think we have all the pieces. Of course, we have to stay locked in on what we’re doing for forty minutes. But when you look at our roster in terms of potential, talent, experience, and just the tactical side of it, I think we’ve got all the basics down. I’m very confident in our group. It’s not going to be easy, especially being at home with the home-side advantage but we’re locked in right now, we’re focused and we want to keep it going”, Kendrick Perry added.
The point guard of the Montenegrin national team also spoke about the opportunity of bringing another trophy to their fans. “It’s obviously another opportunity to win a trophy for these fans and for the city. It’s just gonna be a testament to all the work that started in August, with the management and the coaching staff putting a great team together, with everybody buying into our values. It will be a great opportunity for us”, he said.
