UCAM Murcia announced that veteran guard Thad McFadden signed a contract extension with the club for the next season. The deal includes an option for 2024-25.
McFadden, 36, joined Murcia in 2021 as a two-time Basketball Champions League champion with San Pablo Burgos. Last season he averaged 12.1 points and 2.9 assists in the BCL, along with 13.2 points plus 2.2 assists in the Spanish ACB League.
In 2020, McFadden was named MVP of the Basketball Champions League Final Eight tournament in Athens, Greece as Burgos won the first of back-to-back BCL titles. The Spanish side and McFadden successfully defended their crown next year in the Final Eight held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
Before Burgos, McFadden played for such teams as Lenovo Tenerife, Joventut Badalona and PAOK Thessaloniki. He’s also been a member of the Georgian national team as a naturalized player.
