After penning defensive ace Yorman Polas Bartolo and head coach Josh King to contract extensions before the end of the 2022-23 season, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg furthered preparations for the 2023-24 campaign by handing a new contract to Eddy Edigin Jr.
Edigin, 27, inked a contract extension lasting through the next season and with an option for an additional season, the team announced Thursday. His debut in the Basketball Champions League translated into 6.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest over nine appearances. More BCL action indeed coming up for the German center.
Hungary champions Falco Szombathely are also projected to stay in the Champions League. The latest moves featured contract extensions for young talent with Abel Sovegjarto committing to two more seasons and Peter Veraszto for one more season.
Meanwhile, Darussafaka Lassa decided to part ways with Selcuk Ernak. The 52-year-old tactician was in charge since 2018.
Domestic champions make moves
After being crowned Czechia champions for the first time in 20 years, Opava clinched a berth in the Champions League’s Regular Season. The latest offseason move landed 26-year-old center Simon Pursl.
On the domestic champion route, Poland’s PLK winners King Wilki Morskie Szczecin extended Chicago-born floor general Andrzej Mazurczak until the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.
Qualifiers bids
JDA Dijon and Le Mans are heading directly in the Regular Season, but fellow French club Cholet is expected to be part of the Qualifiers pack. Gerald Ayayi signing a one-year contract shaped the most recent addition to the squad.
Elsewhere in potential Qualifiers teams, 35-year-old Damian Kulig inked a two-year contract extension with BM Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski, Fribourg Olympic signed Killian Martin to a 1+1 contract, and FMP Soccerbet announced the addition of Luka Asceric.
