As officially announced by Telekom Baskets Bonn, Roel Moors is the new head coach. The 44-year-old Belgian, who previously worked for BG Göttingen from 2020 to 2023, has been appointed to the position.

Moors replaces Tuomas IIsalo, who departed after a remarkable season that saw Bonn win the Basketball Champions League and reach the German finals.

As a two-time Belgian champion (2016, 2019) and former Basketball Champions League Coach of the Year (BCL 2019), Moors has signed a contract with the Baskets until the summer of 2025. This marks his third coaching position in Germany, having previously worked with Bamberg and Göttingen.

“I’m really looking forward to this challenge, and I’m proud to work for this successful club. Our first task now is to collaborate with our coaching staff to build an exciting and competitive team that our passionate fans can connect with,” said Moors.

Axel Bouteille agrees to join Bahcesehir

According to sources from Eurohoops, 28-year-old French forward Axel Bouteille has reached an agreement to join Bahcesehir Koleji.

Bouteille, who recently played for Turk Telekom, had a strong season in Ankara. He performed well in the EuroCup, averaging 17.8 points per game, and scored an average of 15 points in the BSL (Basketball Super League). He was also a part of the All-EuroCup First Team.

The Frenchman started his career at Elan Chalon, played two years with Limoges, then moved from France in 2019, joining Bilbao Basket. After a season he joined Unicaja and spent two more seasons in Malaga, before leaving to Turk Telekom. He will join Deniz Kilicli, who extended his contract until 2024.

Ismet Akpinar moves to Galatasaray

After parting ways with both Dylan Ennis and Daron “Fatts” Russell, who respectively joined UCAM Murcia and Manisa, Galatasaray started to bring in new players.

First, Bugrahan Tuncer left Anadolu Efes to jump into the Basketball Champions League landscape with Zvezdan Mitrovic’s team. Now, the former Fenerbahce player Ismet Akpinar moved to the red-and-yellow side of Istanbul.

The 28-year-old German international averaged 3.2 points per game in 5 appearances in the 2022-23 EuroLeague, while he had 4.9 points and 1.6 assists per game in the BSL, playing until the end of the First Round of the Playoffs against Tofas Bursa.
