Preparing for the next edition of the Basketball Champions League, Promitheas picked up plenty of experience in the league through Linos Chrysikopoulos.
The 30-year-old power forward signed a one-year contract, the team announced Monday confirming the earlier report of Eurohoops. On the way to the Patras outfit, he logged 77 BCL appearances spread through stints with fellow Greek clubs PAOK, AEK, and Peristeri between 2016 and 2021.
Since hiring Ilias Papatheodorou as the new head coach, adding Chris Coffey, Jaime Echenique, Hunter Hale, Antonis Koniaris, Arturs Kurucs, and Deshawn Stephens shaped more moves. Returning to the BCL for a second campaign following the 2018-19 season, Promitheas was drawn into Group B along with JDA Dijon, Rytas, and BK Opava.
Qualifiers signings
Christian Brandon penning a two-year contract and Topias Palmi on a one-year contract both joined Karhubasket. Building the new squad, Tahj Eaddy, Joona Hakamaa, Eero Innamaa, Oliver Kanden, Eemi Luukkonen, and Horace Spencer were confirmed by the Finland champions.
The team based in Kauhajoki is set to face Ironi Hai Motors Ness Ziona in the Quarterfinals of one out of three eight-team Qualifiers awarding one berth in the Regular Season. SIG Strasbourg and Monbus Obradoiro emerge as the favorites of that group.
SL Benfica will take on TSU Tbilisi in the group additionally featuring the Bakken Bears, Kalev/Cramo, KB Peja, Norrkoping Dolphins, Levickí Patrioti, and Petrolina AEK Larnaca. In the first move of the offseason, the Lisbon outfit tabbed 27-year-old Daniel Relvao.
