After beginning the season with Unicaja Malaga, where he signed for six weeks, Ilimane Diop is now officially announced as the newest player of Filou Oostende.
Playing both in the semifinal and in the final of the 2023 Supercopa Endesa, respectively against his former team UCAM Murcia and Real Madrid, he only spent a little more than thirteen minutes on the court, scoring only 3 points with 2 rebounds.
In the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League, the 28-year-old center had 6.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game with UCAM Murcia. After spending nine years with Baskonia, he left the Basque Country in 2021, moving to Gran Canaria.
This new experience, therefore, will be his first outside of Spain. In the European competition, the Belgian team will face Oldenburg, Pinar Karsiyaka, and SIG Strasbourg in Group E.
Welcome Diop!
We versterken ons team met een extra center door de blessures van Haris en Servaas.
