Chris Dowe paired his game-high 16 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Kyle Weems threw in 12 more points. The team coached by Marco Ramondino jumped to 1-0 in Group H, forcing Sito Alonso’s side to 0-1.
In a tough break for the Universitarios, they led for nearly 30 minutes in PalaFerraris but could not hold on down the stretch. Troy Caupain and Dylan Ennis shared a team-high 14 points. Nemanja Radovic followed with 12 points.
